The Horndeski Method: Three Things to Know About Cosmetic Surgery

The Horndeski Method is a surgical technique that is used by Dr. Gary Horndeski in Sugar Land, Texas. Dr. Gary Horndeski spent more than a decade developing the technique for breast lifts and reductions. It has multiple benefits including using the patient’s own tissue and reducing the amount of scarring. The Horndeski Method is a form of cosmetic surgery that can have a number of different benefits. If you are considering cosmetic surgery, there are a few facts that you may need to know.

Cosmetic surgery is conducting by surgeons who have years of training. When you work with a cosmetic surgeon, you are most likely working with a medical professional who not only completed a residency in general surgery, but a fellowship program in reconstructive and cosmetic surgery. If you want to find a great surgeon, it may be helpful to learn about your surgeon’s educational background and patient history.

Another fact you should know about cosmetic surgery is that you will need to spend some time recovering from your operation. A small operation may have a short recovery time, but a large or multiple operations could leave you bedridden for multiple weeks. It is important to plan and prepare for your post-op weeks.
Cosmetic surgery is not just for appearances. Various procedures can affect day to day health as well. For example, some women choose to undergo breast reduction surgeries in order to relieve chronic back pain. Dr. Gary Horndeski created the Horndeski Method to help women achieve their health and aesthetic goals.

Dr. Gary Horndeski: Using the Bellesoma Method

Dr. Gary Horndeski became a plastic surgeon because he wanted to help people look and feel better about themselves. After working in a few places in the United States for the early parts of his career, including in North Dakota, he settled in the Houston area of Texas, an area known for its excellent medical centers and research. Horndeski eventually started his own practice in Sugar Land, just southeast of Houston and the famous medical center there. It was in this environment that Dr. Gary Horndeski started working on a new way to perform breast lift and reduction surgeries. After fourteen years in the making, has perfected what is now called the Bellesoma Method.

The Bellesoma Method  is a different way of performing breast reduction and breast lift surgery. Instead of relying on the patient’s skin to hold the breast in place, such as in traditional breast lift and reduction procedures, Dr. Gary Horndeski instead binds the breast to the patient’s chest muscle, ensuring that it will hold its position and shape over time. While skin stretches out and sometimes requires additional work to fix issues over time, the Bellesoma Method (also known as the Horndeski Method,)ensures that patients won’t need corrective action. Another draw of the Bellesoma Method for many of Dr. Gary Horndeski’s patients is the lack of vertical scarring that usually accompanies surgeries like this.

Dr. Gary Horndeski has found a solution to an issue that has plagued both plastic surgeons and their patients for years. The scars can be very noticeable after breast repositioning or lift surgery. While there is no way around scarring completely in these procedures, thanks to Dr. Gary Horndeski, there is now a way to at least reduce the appearance of them.

Dr Gary Horndeski - The Benefits of the Horndeski Method

The Horndeski Method offers a wide array of benefits to women who are interested in a breast lift or reduction procedure. The method was developed by Dr. Gary Horndeski, who is a cosmetic surgeon in Houston, Texas. He has more than three decades of medical experience and is a knowledgeable cosmetic surgeon. Dr. Horndeski is interested in improving surgical procedures and he used his background in engineering, his medical experience, and technology to create a new surgical method. Women who undergo the Horndeski Method find themselves with natural looking lifts and reductions as well as minimal visible scarring.
One of the benefits of the Horndeski Method involves the incision style. Traditional techniques use vertical incisions either in the shape of a T, an anchor, or a lollipop. As a result, patients are left with a vertical scar running through each of their breasts. These scars can be highly visible and may take a long time to fade. On the other hand, the Horndeski Method only uses horizontal incisions that are low on the breasts. As the incisions heal, the scars settle into the inframammary fold, which is the area underneath the breast. Once the patient is fully healed from surgery, the scars are hidden while they fade.

Another benefit of the Horndeski Method is the way in which the breast is shaped and stabilized. Dr. Gary Horndeski reshapes the breast tissue, builds a new internal structure, and then attaches the new structure to the muscle. He chose this method to help prevent future sagging. Over time, skin stretches and loosens. Women often find that their breasts begin to sag over time, or after a pregnancy. When the breast is attached to the muscle, the weight is being supported by the muscle and not the skin. This technique results in another major benefit. Women who have large breasts often suffer from chronic neck, back, and shoulder pain. If the breasts are being supported by the chest muscles, less strain is being placed on the neck, back, and shoulders.

The Horndeski Method is an innovation in the cosmetic surgery industry. The technique can be used to achieve natural looking breast lifts and reductions, and is a great alternative to traditional breast implant (augmentation) surgeries. The surgical method is used to relieve chronic pain as well. Dr. Gary Horndeski is interested in using his experience and knowledge to help his patients. Dr. Gary Horndeski has performed the Horndeski Method many times and always strives to provide his patients with the best services.

Dr. Gary Horndeski, Bellesoma Method Specialist, on Abdominal Surgery

Dr. Gary Horndeski, a Bellesoma Method specialist, has been practicing plastic surgery since the 1980s. He attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University. During a fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center, he decided to remain in the Houston area. As part of his residency, he learned about reconstructive abdominal surgery that used mesh to reinforce the abdominal wall.

When he returned to performing tummy tucks as part of his plastic surgery practice, he continued to use mesh to help reinforce the fascia of the abdominal wall. Traditional tummy tucks sutured the left and right abdominal fascia without any reinforcement. As he followed up with tummy tuck patients, Horndeski noticed that these same patients tended to lose excess belly fat and eat less.

Intrigued by these results, he researched the effect of increased pressure on the stomach and the sensation of fullness after eating. He determined that, by reinforcing the abdomen with mesh, pressure was put on the stomach. The added pressure meant the person felt fuller sooner and longer. An academic paper on his findings can be found at http://bit.ly/2e7QB76.

The pressure works to trigger brain indicators that the stomach is full. The person no longer feels hungry. A patented implantable food restriction device has since been developed for weight loss surgery. Before attending medical school, Dr. Gary Horndeski, a Bellesoma Method specialist, studied biomechanical engineering at Case Western. The engineering background helped him develop his patented device. A weight loss surgery that does not change the stomach with staples or a band could help thousands  of overweight people.
